  • Mother’s Day has always been hard for me. I have children of my own now and have tried to be the opposite of what my mother ever was to me. Reading these comments hurt because growing up, I never had a “mom”. I had a woman that was there in the house that ignored me, never acknowledged me, sent me off to foster care at 5 and reluctantly took me back at 6 and a half. A woman that threw me out as a junior in high school despite me being an honor roll student, working 3 jobs and paying my own way. I never had someone to share these moments. I always wondered why I wasn’t good enough, but my brother was. It didn’t matter the moment I turned 18. I was free. Never again did I hear from my parents. I’m 38 now. I was a burden and mistake in their eyes, and that’s ok. With that, I nominate every broken mom that had to learn to love herself in order to be the best mom for her kids. I nominate the dog moms, cat moms, bird moms. I nominate all moms because all the good moms that love their children. Every mom that gives it her all and gives it her best deserves it. Happy Mother’s Day. Stay Healthy and Safe. <3

  • Let me start by saying my nomination is a little different. I work in healthcare on the front lines of this pandemic since day one. It’s a nursing home and I’ve worked in NH’s for ten years. Anyway… I would like to enter my sweet little residents. Because as you all know they haven’t been able to touch their children or families since we started quarantine. My heart breaks for these loving and deserving forgotten ladies! They’ve been through things I couldn’t begin to tell you every story. But if I can give just one of them something special from Buddy it would make my heart smile!!! We watch and listen to buddy almost every single day. They look forward to it daily. I pull buddy up on my phone and mirror it on the big screen so they can see him from their doorways. I show it to each hall. Weather we win or not we love you Buddy…. Arooooo🙏❤️🙏

  • My mom is one of the most dedicated people I know. Without a doubt, I know I learned compassion, empathy, and strong work ethic from my mother. She is so humble and giving. Honestly, if I grow to be half the woman my mother is, I will have succeeded in life. She also adopted the first beagle I ever loved! ;)
